Drew Mandel is the founder of Drew Mandel Architects (DMA). He is a licenced architect in Ontario. Established in Toronto, Canada in 2004, Drew leads a highly-collaborative and award-winning office known for thoughtful, intelligent architecture that is beautifully-realized.

In his formative years between 1991 and 2003, he worked at MacLennan Jaunkalns Miller Architects in Toronto where he contributed significantly to the design and execution of award-winning public buildings, including Rotary Park Pool, winner of the Governor General’s Award of Excellence in 1999. His involvement in a broad range of community, recreation, residential, and institutional projects has formed his knowledge and skills to harmoniously consider large-scale urban issues and relationships, small-scale details, material choices, budget constraints, and client and end-users’ needs.

Drew graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Waterloo, School of Architecture in 1995. He contributes collegially with the design community and larger public, presenting topics surrounding architectural discourse: the work of the firm, the design process, materials, and architecture and culture. Drew has appeared in programs presented by CBC Radio, CBC TV, Ryerson University, Ontario Association of Architects, and the City of Toronto.

His career continues to explore the limits of contemporary design to derive the greatest potential from any given situation in order to create meaningful, personally-important places.
